The sale & prices

Why are your prices so much lower than elsewhere?

The eBike Lovers shop in Lisbon is closing. eBike Lovers will stay in the bike industry, but only for rentals. We have kept a fleet of bikes for rental and are selling the others at a huge discount. But don't worry: every bike is inspected before sale.

Is the "original price" real?

Yes. The crossed-out price is the previous price at the shop.

Are there any hidden fees or extra taxes?

No, the price you see is final. All listed prices already include standard VAT.

Do discounts apply to all bikes and accessories?

Discounts apply to the models marked with a discount badge. Stock is limited.

Condition & checks

What is the difference between new and second-hand?

New: never used, with its full manufacturer's guarantee. Second-hand / ex-rental: used briefly for tests or rental, fully checked and priced lower.

How do you show the condition of second-hand bikes?

Each listing shows real photos of the bike, and we share the kilometres when available.

What checks do second-hand bikes go through?

Frame and fork inspection, brakes, gears, wheels, lights, motor and battery diagnostic, software check and a test ride.

Are the photos of the actual bike?

Yes, we share real photos of the bike. When a photo is not of the actual bike, we tell you so: it is labelled "Photo of the same model".

Does the e-bike come with a charger and battery key?

Yes, they are included. Every e-bike is sold with its charger and the battery key.

Batteries & riding

How long does an e-bike battery last?

Most batteries keep good capacity for roughly 500 charge cycles, which usually means several years of normal use. Real life depends on riding style, temperature, terrain and charging habits.

What is the battery condition on second-hand e-bikes?

On Bosch e-bikes we can test the battery and show you its state of health.

What is the real range I can expect?

The range on the box is a best case. Hills, wind, rider weight, assist level and cold weather can reduce it by a third or more. We ride e-bikes ourselves, so we'll tell you the realistic range for each model.

Can I ride in the rain? Can I wash the bike?

Yes, e-bikes are designed for rain. But don't use a pressure washer, and never submerge the motor or battery. Remove the battery before cleaning if you can.

Do I need a licence, registration or insurance for an e-bike?

Pedal-assist e-bikes that stop assisting at 25 km/h and have a motor of up to 250 W are treated as bicycles in Portugal, so they need no licence or registration.

Warranty, invoices & legal

What warranty do I get?

Warranty duration and conditions are aligned with the legal requirements.

Can I get an invoice with my tax number?

Yes. Add your tax number (NIF) in your request and we will issue the invoice. Companies can request an invoice in their business name.

Delivery & reserving

Can you deliver my order?

Yes, we deliver bikes and accessories to mainland Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Belgium. Guide prices: €120 per bike in mainland Portugal and €150 to the other countries; €12 for an accessory parcel in Portugal and €15 elsewhere. If you buy a bike and accessories together, you only pay the bike's transport. We confirm the final quote once we receive your request.

How is the bike delivered, and what assembly is required?

We usually use a transport company. Your bike arrives 95% assembled: you only need to straighten the handlebars and screw on the pedals.

Can I request a delivery outside Portugal?

Yes: Spain, France, Germany and Belgium, from €150 per bike or €15 per accessory parcel. For any other country, ask us and we'll get a quote from the transport company.

Can I return my order?

Yes. You have 14 days from receipt to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason (Portuguese Decree-Law no. 24/2014), by contacting ebikeloversportugal@gmail.com. Return shipping costs, valued at least at the amount previously charged for the consignment, are borne by you and are not refunded by the shop.

Can I reserve a bike while I decide?

Not while you decide: discounted stock sells quickly. When you send a request, we hold the item for 2 working days so we can confirm everything with you. After that, it goes back on sale automatically. A reserved bike is not a sold bike: if you're interested, send a request and you'll join the waitlist.

Do you buy second-hand bikes or accept trade-ins?

No, we currently only sell.
